Happy new year everyone!
I'm starting off the year with some helpful tips on building your self confidence.
I'm very aware how hard it is to be very self-assured, especially in this digital age were instagram has every one comparing themselves to each other. But the truth is, not everything we see on the gram is reality for some people. It is sad to say, but I sometimes tend to compare myself to others, which can be detrimental to our mental health. Now don't get me wrong, we can always look at others and feel inspired, but when we start trying to be them, it becomes an issue. The truth is, we can never be anyone else, as much as we may try to pretend because it is not sustainable. I know it is easier said than done, but once we start loving ourselves and reenforcing the positive habits in our lives, we will begin to gain our confidence.
Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself all the good things you love about you.
Be inspired by others, rather than compare yourself to them. Ask yourself, what can I do to get to this level, and work on that.
If you don't already work out, think about going to the gym or workout from home. This is a great way to gain some confidence, especially when you start to see results in your body. I have become more confident in myself since the first time I started working out.
Wear what makes you feel and look good! This works for some people.
Surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself, rather than bring you down. This is actually common and it is a sign of mental bullying. Especially
if you are surrounded by people who are not even happy with themselves. They tend to pick on everyone else to make themselves feel better, like they say misery like company.
And lastly, just smile. I know this may sound a bit cliche. But just smiling through it can help boost your confidence. Even when you don't feel like it, just fake it till you make it.
